YOGA
Yoga for real bodies and real lives
Whether it’s a private 1:1 session, a group class, workplace yoga, or time away on retreat, Ella’s teaching is designed to be accessible and supportive, meeting people where they are, from absolute beginners to seasoned practitioners.
Classes are energetic and thoughtfully paced, with clear guidance and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Ella brings the depth of this ancient practice into a modern context, focusing on strength, mobility, and the connection between body and mind.
Yoga at Kāru isn’t about pretzel shapes or performing for the room. It’s about moving well, building resilience, and feeling comfortable in our bodies — regardless of experience or flexibility.

“
I love yoga with Ella, it makes me feel so relaxed and ready for the day. It’s the perfect balance of calm and meditative breathing with movement and exercise.

My classes are welcoming, authentic, energising when they need to be and suitable for all levels. I love sharing the ancient art of yoga and how it makes my students feel.
As a performing musician, I weave in my original compositions and vocal performances to some of my classes, bringing a love of music and rhythm into the flow!
I’m an accredited yoga instructor, having completed a 200-hour Yoga Alliance registered training course covering yoga technique, philosophy, anatomy and ethics.
I’ve taught in universities, corporate settings and not for profit organisations and currently teach regularly at Notre Dame University and in my private home studio.

Why Meditate?
Landing to refuel is the only way to keep flying.
Some of us come to meditation because we’ve tried doing more and it’s not been fruitful. What if doing less (for a short period each day) could help us achieve everything?
Meditation is a simple process whereby we directly experience pure consciousness, below all the thoughts. It’s the deepest reset we can have, and it’s accessible to anyone.
98% of today's thoughts are recycled from yesterday. Meditation allows us to access that remaining 2% of pure creativity and brings it back to our daily awareness.
There’s no need to cancel everything, let’s multiply your capacity by sitting comfortably in a chair with your eyes closed twice each day.

Whether you are new to meditating or have a few years under your belt, the pace of learning was perfect and effortless and each day you walked away with a deeper sense and understanding of this practice. Learning within an intimate group at Lawson Flats was beautiful- a serene external space to create a serene inner space. Would highly recommend this course for everyone!

Kind words
“
New to meditation, I was nervous going into the course, unsure at how I would go and what would be involved. But now, a few days post course, I can truly say it is the best thing I have ever done. I am already noticing the positive impact this practice is having on my life! Elliot created a warm, inclusive and safe learning space, and shared his knowledge and experience openly.

I am just so glad I did the course. Elliot holds the space so beautifully. He clearly has a deep insight into the material, and imparts his knowledge articulately through his teachings. This has been a game changer for me. I'm already experiencing a level of peace and ease I haven't experienced before.
