WHAT WE DO

An ancient practice for a modern life

Vedic Meditation is a simple, time-tested meditation practice, backed by evidence and designed to fit into real life.

The practice is done while seated in a comfortable position, back supported with the eyes closed. No need to make yourself into a pretzel, just sitting easily, using an effortless technique that guides the mind inward.

The instruction is tailored and personalised and is taught in person, over four x 90 minute sessions.

I never thought my brain would allow me to properly meditate (I’d tried for 20 years) turns out Vedic meditation was the way.

MEET YOUR TEACHER

Elliot Smith

Generous, kind, passionate and enthusiastic — and his hair is the envy of most.

Elliot is a certified Vedic Meditation teacher, trained by pre-eminent master of Vedic Meditation, Thom Knoles in the foothills of the Himalayas and inducted into the Shankaracharya Tradition of India by Swami Kailashanand Giri Ji.

Soon after learning Vedic Meditation, he knew his calling was to teach this beautiful practice. His passion for the knowledge and endless possibilities of Vedic philosophy is contagious, and he is driven to share this technique and wisdom with anyone who'd like to learn it.

A natural teacher from an early age, Elliot welcomed his first students at 15 as a drummer, going on to forge a successful musical career touring Australia alongside The Waifs, Meg Mac, Christina Anu, Rhye and the Perth Symphony Orchestra.

He brings that same energy and generosity to supporting his students — and he can't wait to meet you.

Why Meditate?

Landing to refuel is the only way to keep flying.

Some of us come to meditation because we’ve tried doing more and it’s not been fruitful. What if doing less (for a short period each day) could help us achieve everything?

Meditation is a simple process whereby we directly experience pure consciousness, below all the thoughts. It’s the deepest reset we can have, and it’s accessible to anyone.

98% of today's thoughts are recycled from yesterday. Meditation allows us to access that remaining 2% of pure creativity and brings it back to our daily awareness.

There’s no need to cancel everything, let’s multiply your capacity by sitting comfortably in a chair with your eyes closed twice each day.

A technique which brings the mind from the surface of life to the depth of our being

Whether you are new to meditating or have a few years under your belt, the pace of learning was perfect and effortless and each day you walked away with a deeper sense and understanding of this practice. Learning within an intimate group at Lawson Flats was beautiful- a serene external space to create a serene inner space. Would highly recommend this course for everyone!

Kind words

New to meditation, I was nervous going into the course, unsure at how I would go and what would be involved. But now, a few days post course, I can truly say it is the best thing I have ever done. I am already noticing the positive impact this practice is having on my life! Elliot created a warm, inclusive and safe learning space, and shared his knowledge and experience openly.

SARAH | VEDIC MEDITATION STUDENT

I am just so glad I did the course. Elliot holds the space so beautifully. He clearly has a deep insight into the material, and imparts his knowledge articulately through his teachings. This has been a game changer for me. I'm already experiencing a level of peace and ease I haven't experienced before.
